Plasma nitriding is a thermochemical surface hardening process conducted at relatively low temperatures, normally comprised between 400 and 550°c in a gaseous mixture of nitrogen (n2) and hydrogen (h2).
Through plasma technology the atoms of the gas are accelerated towards the surfaces of the pieces by means of strong electrical forces.
