A thermo chemical treatment to obtain surface hardening on low carbon steels. The process increases surface carbon content in a pulsating vacuum atmosphere and ends with pressurised nitrogen quencing.
Compared to traditional carburising this process avoids deformation, increases surface toughness and gives a very clean surface finish with no oxidisation.
